My name is Mario Ptasik, and I was born in a beautiful town near the Andes in Argentina. My mother introduced me to landscape photography, and thanks to her, I have always had a deep love for nature. I started capturing mountains, forests, rivers, and lakes with a simple pocket camera she gave me. Years later, when I reconnected with my father, I realized photography was truly in my DNA when he showed me the vintage Voigtländer he used to photograph our family when my brother and I were children.
I first arrived in Punta Cana back in 2007, drawn by the island’s landscapes and the warmth of Dominican culture. Today, after 20 years of calling this paradise home, I am a husband and a proud father of two daughters. When I’m not behind the lens, you can usually find me pursuing my passion for craft homebrewing.
